What I love about this scene between Sheldon and his mom is the quality of their ability to disagree. Both hold to a certain point of view, or in their opinion fact, but both know a proper boundary and respect for the other person. It doesn’t resort to name calling, to abandoning the relationship, or to leaving their own view for the sake of appeasing the other. They have a disagreement, they understand what’s important to them, and they go the way they feel called without degrading the other. There is no slanderous talk behind each others back, no blog wars. It just is and they move on.
